Analyze
If we make popcorn by following this
experiment, we can calculate that a cup of plain air-popped popcorn provides
only 31 calories and about 0.4 grams of fat, making it low in both calories and
fat. Butter-flavored microwave popcorn is a bit higher in calories and fat,
however, with 42 calories and 2.4 grams of fat.
Moreover, popcorn is a healthy whole
grain food that provides you with fiber, it is quite filling even though it
isn't high in calories. Foods that are low in energy density, or calories per
gram such as popcorn make great snacks during a diet since you can enjoy more
without consuming too many calories.
