Does Eating Popcorn Make It Easier or Harder to Lose Weight?
Introduction
The sounds “Pop pop pop” hit you slowly at first, then a storm of kernels magically transform into billows of crunchy white deliciousness. Next the smell wafts throughout the room and tantalize your nose and your taste buds. We call it, “Popcorn”.
          Popcorn is a type of corn that resembles corn on the cob, but it has the ability, when heated, to pop into the fluffy snack enjoyed in countless homes and movie theaters. People in the United States eat over 18 billion quarts of popcorn annually, according to the Popcorn Board. The snack is generally safe, although it is linked to some dietary concerns.
Hypothesis
          Some people believe that popcorn is the worst food to eat because it makes them fat, but popcorn make from corn which is natural ingredient and nutritious. So this believing is probably false.




  Experiment
          First, we have to find out recipes and process of
making popcorn. There are 1/4 cup unpopped popcorn kernels, 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil and 1/4 teaspoon  salt, or to taste (or other seasoning).
Then, mix together the unpopped popcorn and oil. Pour the coated corn into a brown paper lunch sack, and sprinkle in the salt. Fold the top of the bag over twice to seal in the ingredients. Cook in the microwave at full power for 2 to 2 ½ minutes, or until you hear pauses of about 2 seconds between pops. Do not keep in microwave longer than needed. Carefully open the bag to avoid steam, and pour into a serving bowl.
Analyze
          If we make popcorn by following this experiment, we can calculate that a cup of plain air-popped popcorn provides only 31 calories and about 0.4 grams of fat, making it low in both calories and fat. Butter-flavored microwave popcorn is a bit higher in calories and fat, however, with 42 calories and 2.4 grams of fat.
          Moreover, popcorn is a healthy whole grain food that provides you with fiber, it is quite filling even though it isn't high in calories. Foods that are low in energy density, or calories per gram such as popcorn make great snacks during a diet since you can enjoy more without consuming too many calories.
Conclusion

          Popcorn can be a healthy snack that's high in fiber and low in calories, if you prepare it the right way. Popcorn that is cooked in hydrogenated oils, drenched in butter or coconut oil, and over salted is not healthy. If you cook popcorn in olive oil or air pop it, you will be eating a high fiber snack. Season popcorn with a drizzle of olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder for a delicious healthy snack. Popcorn is a carbohydrate so limit the amount to a reasonable serving.
