Vampire myth is a real vampire or patient.

Vampire myth is real vampires or patients.

Nowadays, vampire lore is very popular.
If you see in Century 18 – 19, the most popular phantom myth would be Count Dracula. The smart vampire was talking about his horrors. Unlike nowadays, the most popular vampire is being about handsome like Edward Cullen in vampire twilight. Vampire myths are not only in Europe.  Many myths about vampires in the world such as Asia has “yara-ma-yaha-oh” like vampires which stay in forest, Romania has “stikol” like dirty vampire which their face are pale and dislike garlic.

When you read the previous line, have you ever thought that vampires are not just a horrors or thriller story only but they are real and people in past might be afraid with fear. What did they see in the past? Vampire? Dead man walking? Or some patients who unfortunately suffer from some diseases that are synonymous with a vampire?

This myth was explained in 1874 by Dr.felix Hoppe Seyler, a.German chemist who has studied the history of the patients in the hospital: one of which fell ill with strange symptoms. Those patients had been changing their physically and mentally to worse. The patients were disliked by family doctors, nurses and patients themselves.
Some patients have a critical condition, for example they did not want to see their face in a mirror. Some get very effective photo sensitivity that their skin will be produced rash and blister immediately when contacting to sunlight. Their face is miserable. Their symptom appears that patients cannot live like normal people. They stay to home all day and out at night because patient’ eye reaction to the light is poor. But they see well in the dark. There are many myths that can explain this. Dr.Hoppe explains these diseases are disorders of the synthesis Porphyries like heme in red blood cells. He denominates these diseases of Vampire syndrome or Porphyria syndrome

·      Aversion to garlic: their ‘sinus is very sensitive with pungent smell because it gets pain in their sinus.
·       Drinking blood : in the past , Porphyria syndrome will be cured by blood drinking because Porphyria that it is defectiveness of hemoglobin want fresh blood so they think it can help by drinking fresh blood but we use blood which transfusion now
· Transforming into a bat: In Africa, a vampire bat forages at night and leech another animal. This behavior was used to make up vampire stories.
Although think this diseases is awesome, everyone could be this patient. Fortunately, the research shows that this disease is not common. The average is 1 in 10,000 and 1 in 1,000,000 for mild to severe ones.
Now, the vampire story is not scary anymore. However Porphyria patient is very unlucky. When you find them .you should not fear and help Porphyria patient.
