Left handed people have shorter life True or False?

In the past, left handed people weren’t accepted as the present. In 180-190, people believed left handed people will bring bad luck to himself and their intimate, so left handed people was eliminated by burning down like witch-hunting in Arab. Resistance of left handed people is become from belief that left hand is use for wash dirtiness. This belief appeared clearly in conduct when eating. People will use only right hand for dish out the rice and in some countries, they use right hand for receive or sent something.

In ancient Greek, most population was right handed people, because almost of them are soldier or warrior, so they were practice for use left hand for hold their shield and use right hand for wield a sword. In ancient Africa, there has some tribe punish left handed people by put their left hand into hot water.

Two months ago, S. Cohen from British Columbia university in Canada, publish his research about left handed people in New England Journal of Medicine. Name of this research is   left-handedness. This research told that left handed people have shorter life than right handed people around 9 years, which is more high when compare with the different age of smoker and no smoking people.

Cohen did his research in California with 981 people, who died. He found that right handed people will die when age around 75 years old but left handed people will die when age around 66 years old. When consider about their gender, Cohen found that men’s age, left handed people: right handed people is 72:63 years old and for women’s age, left handed people: right handed people is 78:73 years old.

For the reason of this research, Cohen explained that nowadays our world is design for right handed people. Almost equipment such as scissors, bottle-opener etc. was design for right handed people use, so when left handed people use this equipment, it may cause an accident.

Cause of left handed people, Cohen guess that it became from amniotic fluid has testosterone hormone. This hormone affect to slow down growth of left cerebral hemisphere, so right cerebral hemisphere will more growth. Right cerebral control action in left body of human, so this cause of left handed people. If this research is true, that mean in future, life assurance company will get more insurance premium with left handed people.

There has some people don’t agree with this research. They give reason that data of Cohen is not right, because in that time left handed people was compel to use right handed instead. This make the research seem left handed people die before 60 years old.

However this research is starting point for future. Maybe we must to keep more sample , more time and more clearly data to make reliable research. Quality of work become from many factors such as money and time, if factors not have quality, work will not have enough quality too. All of reason make this research still not have conclusion in the present.
